RECIPE: STRAWBERRY SANTAS (VID)
These strawberry Santas are adorable — and they’ll get plenty of “oohs” and “aahs” at your holiday party. Watch the video, then scroll for my tips on making this Christmas recipe even easier.
HOW TO MAKE STRAWBERRY SANTAS
This strawberry Santa recipe has several versions and has been trending, so it’s all over Pinterest and YouTube. This was one of the simplest and cutest versions I found.
The site’s recipe is here, but it’s almost too simple, in my opinion. It’s the perfect reference point, so give it a look and give the site the nod it deserves for giving us this amazing recipe.

MY TIPS
- You don’t need to use the brands listed. (The site is in New Zealand, so you may not be able to find them.) Just make sure you use heavy whipping cream and any 70% or higher dark chocolate.
- If you want to save a step, use round edible sprinkles for the eyes instead of melting the chocolate. Just make sure they’re the right size for your strawberries, so shop for both at the same time. If you can’t find brown or black round sprinkles, mix things up with blue or green eyes instead.
- If you do decide to melt the chocolate, a good basic tutorial is here. You’re only going to need a tiny bit of chocolate, so when you’re done with your Santas, dip a bunch of whole strawberries in the remaining chocolate and roll them in red, green, silver or gold edible sprinkles and serve.
- Make sure you whip the cream until it is VERY stiff. Pull the beaters out of the cream. If a peak stands up without “wilting” or drooping down, it’s ready.
- Hand-made cream doesn’t hold up for long in the fridge, so serve these as an appetizer and bring them out first at the party. Sneak away during the party and close the kitchen door (if your kitchen has one) or play party music while you make your whipping cream. Then bring these out. Trust me, everyone, from the oldest to the youngest, will snap these up.
- If you’ve never used a piping/carrot bag, experiment with one ahead of time so you’re not struggling the day of the party.
Happy holidays. Enjoy!
